Kalmia Gardens Expands Outdoor Education With New Kids in Parks TRACK Trail

by Kat Davis

Hartsville, SC (05/11/2026) — Kalmia Gardens of Coker University will soon join the national Kids in Parks TRACK Trail network, helping connect more families and children with the outdoors through interactive, self-guided adventures.

To celebrate the installation of the new TRACK Trail system, Kalmia Gardens will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 12, at noon at the Joslin Education Center. Community members are invited to attend.

The TRACK Trail program, part of the national Kids in Parks initiative, encourages children and families to explore nature through hands-on educational activities, scavenger hunts, and outdoor adventures. Each TRACK Trail location features engaging activity brochures and opportunities for children to log their adventures online and earn prizes.

At Kalmia Gardens, the new installation will include official TRACK Trail signage and rack cards available at the Joslin Education Center, giving visitors easy access to activities designed to make outdoor exploration fun, educational, and accessible for all ages.

Kids in Parks is a national program designed to encourage healthier lifestyles and meaningful connections with nature through a network of family-friendly trails across the country.

Media planning to attend are asked to RSVP to Lisa Atkinson at latkinson@coker.edu.
