Hailey Owens Attends Coker Connection

2012 Jun 27

Hailey Owens recently attended Coker Connection, an intense two-day adventure/experiential learning program that provides students the opportunity to connect with fellow freshmen, stay in the residence halls and explore campus before orientation.

The program concentrates on goal setting and relationship building in an effort to position students for a successful start to their Coker College career. Activities included a trip to the US National White Water Center in Charlotte, N.C., where students were challenged mentally and physically to work on team building and problem solving skills with classmates. Owens is an incoming freshman from Pelion, S.C.

Established in 1908, Coker College readies undergraduates for personal and professional success through a distinctive four-year program that emphasizes a practical application of the liberal arts as well as hands-on and discussion-based learning within and beyond the classroom. Coker is ranked among the "Best Colleges" in the South by U.S. News & World Report as well as The Princeton Review. Located in Hartsville, S.C., Coker is within two hours of the cultural, financial and recreational resources of Charlotte, Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach.
