Contreras Honored as First Graduate of Coker College Honors Program

Senior Ericka Contreras, a communications major from Cassatt, South Carolina, has been honored as the first graduate of the Coker College's Honors Program.

Ericka Contreras is a Resident Assistant, World Scholar, Tutor for the Writer's Studio, an Ambassador, and a Student Representative for the Academic Standards Committee. She also interns with the Coker College Office of Marketing and Communications.

The Honors Program involves a course of study that allows for particularly well-prepared and motivated students seeking undergraduate degrees to go beyond the requirements for a Coker College Degree. The Honors Program offers enhanced scholarly experiences based on three pillars -- innovative scholarship, cultural interaction, and civic leadership. Students study leadership, participate in study-abroad experiences and community service projects, and get extensive research experiences in a variety of disciplines, through a combination of coursework and co-curricular experiences.
