Coker College Student Kaycee Weaver Performs in Spring Dance Concert

2012 Mar 21

Coker College student Kaycee Weaver, of Lake City, S.C., recently performed in "Vantage Points," the College's spring dance concert, presented March 22-24 in the Watson Theater of the Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center. Weaver is a freshman dance major at Coker.

"Vantage Points" included works by Coker College dance faculty, guest artists and senior dance students completing their capstone projects. The performances examined an eclectic blend of choreographic standpoints such as a ten-foot by ten-foot cage and an eight-foot tall platform. Guest artists David Dorfman, of David Dorfman Dance, and Terrance Henderson, of Vibrations Dance Company, also performed.

Established in 1908, Coker College readies undergraduates for personal and professional success through a distinctive four-year program that emphasizes a practical application of the liberal arts as well as hands-on and discussion-based learning within and beyond the classroom. Coker is ranked among the "Best Colleges" in the South by U.S. News & World Report as well as The Princeton Review. Located in Hartsville, S.C., Coker is within two hours of the cultural, financial and recreational resources of Charlotte, Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach.
